KA6021 Helmholtz Coils
Overview
KA6021 Helmholtz Coils These coils can be used to produce a highly uniform magnetic field. Two single coils of 124 turns each, 29.5 cm in diameter, are arranged parallel to each other and 150 mm apart. The coils are wound with varnished copper wire, 1.5 mm in diameter.
Description
Maximum allowable current is 5 A. The magnetic induction is B = 37 x 10-4 T at this current. The individual coils can be connected in series or parallel. Each coil has a resistance of 1.2 Ohms. The narrow electron beam tube is placed within the Helmholtz coils to measure e/m. The coils require 0 to 12 VDC, properly filtered with a 4 A load capacity. KA6021
